The weather is warming up and people will be heading out to swim more and more. Here is a short video to show you what it really looks like when someone is drowning. (Not like Hollywood movies at all). Know the signs and be prepared to apply your emergency response training or aed first aid skills to save a life. It call all happen in less than a minute.

 

Here are the main warning signs to look for when recognising the signs of drowning:

  • A drowning person will not scream or shout
  • A drowning person tried to swim or grab something
  • A drowning person cannot intentionally control the movement of their hands
